This is a 50/50 blend of our Colombian (Bucamaranga) Regular coffee and our Colombian (Huila) Decaf. For those that still want a little kick in their Decaf and the taste is almost undetectable as far as Decaf goes. This is Phils Choice for an evening cup! Comes in Medium or Dark Roast.
Bucamaranga:This is Colombian Mesa de los Santos aka. Bucaramanga, a private "estate" mill coffee from a single family farm. The coffee is what great Colombian was 20 years ago: a Caturra Cultivar variety is used rathar than the inferior, high-yield, disease resistent Variedad Colombian. Mesa de los Santos has been very agressive in improving their ability to grow, mill and export the best quality, Caturra varietal Colombian coffee. In fact they recently won a competitive World Resources Institute venture capital award honoring their bio-diverse business, an effort coordinated by manager Oswaldo Acevedo.
Huila: Colombian Decaf Colombia is justly renowned for classic good coffee flavor. Shade grown. Decaffeinated by the Methylene Chloride process, a naturally occurring compound from organic decomposition. An excellent addition for your coffee cellar--you should always have some decaf around! Complex and aromatic are great descriptors of this coffee. Hearty, medium-to-full body, balanced acidity with a woody, nutty caramel-like flavor with hints of walnut and notes of spice. The characteristics of a Colombian (balance and body) offset with a surprising complexity and brightness.
